My fellow birds

by Ziad Dib Jreige   May 13, 2021

My fellow birds

With birds I fly, with birds I sing,
Across the sky, I stretch my wing,
My thoughts of rain, my thoughts of sun,
I don't retain, I give with fun.

In morning dew, with birds I dance,
Each day is new, full of romance,
Then when the night, with silence falls,
The birds of height, cease all their calls.

Yet I still sing, and I still fly,
I stretch my wing, across the sky,
And through the night, with piercing voice,
My songs with might, weep and rejoice.
