Sirens

by The Parrott King Jordan R. Stephens   May 20, 2021

What does bile taste like?
As I sit, sirens blaring,
Train blasting
WARNING

WARNING STAY AWAY.

I cried so hard. I cried because you left;
I

I cried because you left.

Don’t laugh, I can’t take it.
It’s been so long.
The train won’t stop.
They say it’s

Dangerous to stand near the tracks.

First aid training yesterday reminded me
Of such dangers. But sometimes
I wonder...

What is pain but a reminder?
Is it worth being frightened?
What is pain?
