I often find love poems to be full of cliches, even when they are dealing with heavy emotions. Your poems always break the cliche mold and each poem feels unique and different each time.

There are so many directions I could go here with my thoughts but the first instinct I have is that a songbird is a simile to someone you once knew. Each time you hear one, you feel lonely because you miss the person you speak about. It feels ?one someone is stabbing you over and over again and because of that, it's difficult to verbalize your emotions to anyone, so you try to pretend you don't hurt.

You were this person's safe haven as much as they were yours and each small thing reminds you of that. It's never easy going through death, but it seems like in the last stanza you made peace with it. The last line of the poem is stunning as well because it tells the reader everything. This person is one of the most caring people ever.
