There's a very extreme sense of longing in this poem and it makes me wonder about how the flowers bloom and smell and how they make each of us remember many things for me it makes me think back to being a little girl and having nothing much to worry about and summers at my nans walking her dog with her in the fields full of daffodils and it's as it they'd made a path for us to walk. I'll never forget the smell nor will I forget the summer I should have gone to my Nans and decided to study instead for it was the summer she passed, it's like whoever was up there stopped me seeing the lady I looked up to pass away for it would have traumatised me for life.

I love this, it might seem like a really simple poem but in hindsight it isn't.
    Take care x

Do you think many people forget how powerful the sense of smell is? It’s so evocative. A beautiful memory, Em. Thank you so much for sharing

Missed your writes! The simplicity in the title, yet the layers it holds... and the way nature's rebirth can awaken us or hold a bittersweet taste in our memories. Absolutely lovely. I also read that last line with a bit of sensual tone, or just intimate. There are so many scents around us, some overwhelming, some that we may not be able to identify with us right away, but they linger. They hold meaning in all sorts of ways.

I meant to drop a little 'congratulations ' earlier in the week, Daniel, but I didn't so you have them now! A lovely write.
