Dancing in the air

I don't like flying little critters
But tonight I've been entranced
When you watch them fly in tiny numbers
It is almost like a dance

They are not the ugly pest in your house
A blue bottle they cannot be
Just tiny things with little wings
That whip about so easily

I've made my garden pretty and wild
To encourage the birds and the bees
But I have gained frogs in the process
And I'm kinda fond of these

I've also got a nomad hedgehog
Sometimes he's here and sometimes not
I guess if it's hungry
He is looking for the frogs

I've done all that I can do
To bring nature to my garden
It was made for birds and bees to flourish
Despite me seeming quite hardened

My little bit of wilderness
Has now been growing for a year
And it will continue to flourish
So long as I am here.

Every thing must live and die
And we all know this is not lies
But when the heat of day does fade away
Please watch the dance of flies

Ps I've got frogs! I don't even have a pond and there is no water near by. They've made a home under the tortoise hutch. Can't quite figure that one out.

They'll have a little pond soon though.
