This is so beautiful!
When I first saw the title, I thought this poem would be really chilling, Yet as soon as I read the first line it was clear this wasn't so much about what a mausoleum is, but about the feelings in it. In a graveyard or a place such as it, there's always a quiet sense of peace. You can almost touch the 'ageless memories' in your head.
In some ways, this is quite a dark poem. I can't decide if I think it's dark or light. The beginning part is lovely, then the middle grows slightly uneasy, but it finishes in such a calming way, reflecting the atmosphere in a mausoleum/graveyard etc.
I loved the subtle rhymes and format : centered, with a space between each line. The lay out sort of reflects the text, in a way. The empty feeling in the space between lines, like the wind or the quiet, hollow space inside a church or tomb. I might just be going on about a load of nonsense I invented in my head! :)
Anyway, I thought this was truly lovely by the end. I'm leaning - personally - towards thinking that this was a lighter poem after all!
