Goodbye

You came back into my life,
And everything was more then I could have ever hoped for.
But then things started slowly to become toxic.
Truth is you were never going to come see me.
All the plans, the what if’s, are just twisted realities leading to disappointment.
I’m not the only one, you tell those 3 words to.
I’m not the only one occupying your heart.
I’ve never asked you to change or to be perfect,
Because you’re perfect the way you are.
I just want to be the only one you make feel special.
I don’t want to have to compete for first place,
Knowing with my competitors I don’t stand a chance.
I love you, it’s you it’s always been you.
But I can’t stand around waiting for things to change.
To hope one day I’ll be good enough for you.
