Pride at work (acrostic/ mirrored reverse nonet)

by Mr. Darcy   Jun 9, 2021

Ed
Admits
Ruining
Two sombrero
Hats of soft felt by
Working in them. Now he's
Obliged to wear safety hats,
Rendering smooth pink skin with a
More practical, less en vogue headwear.

Having taken a wild leap of faith
Ed noticed whilst eating soil, an
Ants path lit up, flare like, so
Dirt needn't halt fashion!
Lights mean less danger,
A new outfit. . .
Mini dress +
Pink heeled
Shoes

A perfect poem for the pride month, Michael. Glad to see this very clever work nominated.

Ah, nonets. I think if I remember correctly, this were one of the first forms I encountered in this site. It was either, this or the etheree, but that’s how I learnt to count syllables. Good memories.

Thanks for the reminder. I like what you did with the acrostic. If I understood, this is all about Ed the worm?

I too cut my teeth on these forms. With it being Pride month I thought, why not write about a male earthworm who discovers wearing headlamps enables him to express his sexuality at work.
      Thanks for the comment.
