True Loves End

by Splinty   Jul 2, 2021

Elegance and beauty,
Graceful, full of duty,
Gentle, kind and sweet
Hair as black as midnight,
Voice as soft as twilight,
A dream girl I should meet.

Full of hate and ugly,
Shameful, cruel and clumsy,
This man of dark, of red, of bad
His eyes like gimlets, dark and green,
His evil features, twisted, mean,
The only outcome, surely sad.

Her caress, so kind, so soft,
To bear his wretched heart aloft,
To eliviate his dark refrain,
Her words so sweet, and touch so true,
He feels a love felt by so few,
And releases all his pain.

Though true they stayed, through ages untold,
They held on tight, but love grew cold,
They had one child, loved by all,
Golden locks, eyes so blue,
Fair of face, voice so true,
It was her that brought their fall.

She fell in love with a man of sorts,
Of noble blood, and powerful courts,
He saw the man, that once cause fear,
He saw the eyes, so cold and mean,
And saw his wife, her of the dream,
He felled the beast, her husband dear.

Elegance and beauty,
His heart so full of duty,
The noble oh they do tend,
To stand in self importance,
And so it was in this stance,
That he caused true loves end.
