Another Place

by Milly Hayward   Jul 12, 2021

In the mirror
a place time forgot
Just like this World
except that it's not

Seems much brighter
the things that we see
A much better version
of both you and me

Maybe that place
has no option for bad
Nor things that could
make us unhappy or sad

Where do reflections go
when we're not here?
Stay in their realm
or just disappear?

If we could do magic
would we follow them there
Or would we swap lives?
That seems only fair

But then we'd be forced
to appear at their will
Compelled forever
to follow that drill

Imagine its us
in their mirror instead
Perhaps they are feeling
the same kind of dread

We trust our reflections
won't move out of sync
Because if they did
we'd be gone in a blink

Perhaps such thoughts
should be put out of mind
Before we uncover
what we don't want to find

My heart's beating fast
at vanity's price
Avoid every mirror,
that's now my advice

For I swear I saw something
move out of my view
And where there was me
there's now only you

They say a mirror never lies but it always amazes me what we see when looking into it. A great write Milly that had me thinking.

Wouldn't it be amazing if we could go through a mirror or the likes, like it's a portal to another dimension. This is one of the things I thought about whilst reading this again. It is lovely to see a new post from you and a wonderful one as ever; you know what I think to this. Well done and take
