What keeps you from your Saviour?

What keeps you from your Saviour,
Is it worldly fame or favor,
Is it the taste of sin you savor,
What keeps you from the Saviour?

If these things draw you from His side,
It must not mean much that He died,
‘Twas for you “It is Finished”, he sighed,
What keeps you from the Saviour?

Is it the pleasures of Sin you crave,
Do you wish to remain a sin sick slave,
Is it a wicked path you wish to pave,
What keeps you from the Saviour?

Do you prefer the plains of sin for a season,
What is the purpose, the cause, the reason,
Why to your King do you this treason,
What keeps you from the Saviour?

For you His life willingly given,
For you His side pierced and riven,
For what things in life have you been living,
What keeps you from the Saviour?

It was your cross in agony borne,
‘Twas for your sins His heart was torn,
Yet your life brings to His death a scorn,
What keeps you from the Saviour?

I beseech you after all that has been said,
Do not choose in trespasses to remain dead,
‘Twas because he loved you first His blood was shed,
What keeps you from your Saviour?
