Message For A Ghost

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Jul 30, 2021

I’m tired in my bones,
I’m tired in my mind,
My soul is calling out,
Petitioning our ties that bind.

You promised you’d always be here,
Keeping my corner bright,
I think I’ve lost my way,
For I can no longer see the light.

Something has to give,
Or something’s going to break,
I’ve had about all I can handle,
How much more must I take?

I’m reaching out across the distance,
Asking for you to take my hand,
I need someone who’ll listen,
I need- the one who’ll understand.

Don’t leave me on my own,
With just the voices in my head,
The insomnia is rampant,
And my eyes are rimmed in red.

I just keep saying it doesn’t matter,
You know better- if you’re out there,
I can’t talk about what’s wrong,
But I need you here, if you still care.

Meaningful heartfelt expression! Hang in there, I'd wager you're stronger than you might think!!

The title makes this poem hold an even greater depth. How those who aren't physically on this earth can still be present with us, and we need their guidance and support in some form, even if it's not always apparent to us. Love the rhyme in this, and that honest and emotional plea to not be left alone.
