Admiring a rose, for you I just picked
It's so beautiful and looking perfect
The petals are soft, with its scent of perfume
The fragrance which lingers and filling the room
Its colours so bold, though just red and green
This doesn't distract, from the allure that's seen
Its stem elegant, which gently I hold
Within my own hand, a sight to behold
Distracted by sound, as I hear your keys
The door you unlock, so effortlessly
Your presence is felt, my spine tingling
And here we just pause and don't say a thing
My eyes you now capture and focus on you
Still feels like the first time and not déjà vu
As we move closer, then static on skin
Where your gentle touch, is felt from within
The rose is forgotten and falls to the ground
Our heartbeats in sync...the only sound
Your eyes closed we kiss, I can't help but stare
The allure of the rose, just does not compare
