Heads or tails?

by Michael   Aug 11, 2021

It feels like I am in the
middle of a tunnel

my thoughts are claustrophobic
while anxiety grits my teeth

I know I can only travel
one way or the other

it has been said

“there is always light at one end”

however,
when darkness
only lies at each end
it brings a whole new
meaning

my life hangs by the thread
of a flicked
coin

Completely was drawn into this poem with the title, it did not disappoint.
I relate to every single word in this poem.
The struggle to fight the darkness can be overwhelming.
I love the imagery of life being decided by a flicked coin.
The uncertainty and anxiety are really palpating in this poem.
Truly emotionally powerful with a lot of mournful sadness and yet, a sense of hope that maybe things can turn around...somehow.. Keep it up!
