Red Sky at Night

by The Parrott King Jordan R. Stephens   Sep 9, 2021

Path set in stone, my legs are not my own.
Forever ambling toward distant horizons.
The space between us—noise.

Upon the pavement, smashed;
broken I saw a vision.

Teeth. Claws.
A fight for life. Blood—
Turn me/I won’t fight.
Upside down/I won’t scream.
Light spills from my
mouth
and
eyes.

Horizon; closer than ever.
Unreachable no matter how hard I try.

    Great work!
Powerful and love the words throughout.
It is a piece that really is creative.
I enjoyed every word and stanza.
I love the way it begins and how it ends with a sense of not being in control no matter how hard you try to gain a sense of control.
    Well done my friend.
