Speechless.

by Poet on the Piano   Sep 9, 2021

I am perpetually waking up
from the impact of you -

the larynx working in collusion
with your stifling airflow.

I emerge from a violent sleep,
hoping to cleanse myself
of your debris.

But, you remain the first
shadow I see at dawn,
immobilizing my words.

A part of me
welcomes the inertia;
you've inhabited my
left hemisphere since birth.
