The Pen's Release

by Baby Rainbow   Sep 11, 2021

I know I keep putting this ink of mine away,
but each new disaster keeps me coming back for more,
and I realise I need this poetry to sort the mess.
It's like I find peace in an empty stadium of my notebook,
in my own protected world with only words and ink as my audience.

The pen flows like a car driving on an open high-way,
never knowing what I'm going to find,
or what each metaphor might represent in my life.

Time pushes faster when all that is trapped in my mind
is caught on my pen's camera,
then transferred into words on paper,
where the world can dissect them,
even though they will never understand them.
