SuperHuman's Ending

by Angie M.   Sep 15, 2021

She steps out and falls
Humanity's end, she forestalls
Her life flashed in her mind
Has she always been so blind?

A bit before the now present
Her thoughts were still unpleasant
To prevent this catastrophe
She was sent to beg and plea

In this poor neighborhood
Fixing what she never understood
And even as X starts to smile
She sees behind it, something vile

It was like the bullet hole
So empty, devoid of soul
Living life in such fear
The consequences, so severe

Now she's back to falling
As if cut off from a string
And now it's her last chance
She moves without a second glance

Maybe if the world wasn't so mulish
Maybe if people weren't so foolish
If the world didn't have such a strife
She wouldn't have to risk her life

    Strong write.
You really have a way with your words.
You gripped my attention until the very last sentence.
Emotions flooding throughout this poem are really powerful and raw.
I really loved the way you described the anguish the girl in the poem is going through.
Well done, keep it up and welcome to P&Q.
