The First Kiss

by Walter   Oct 17, 2021

Lost in the moment
Where I'm caught in the spell
Emotions surround me
Too many to tell

But I look at your smile
With your mouth and your eyes
These feelings are mutual
We're both hypnotized

We haven't stopped talking
Until now that we pause
When our eyes become locked
The reason and cause

And just like we're destined
Our lips gently touch
For this need and this wanting
We've waited too much

Our eyelids both closed
Like a dream in the dark
And the static of our skin
Providing the spark

And only when breathless
Does inhaling begin
Our eyes now wide open
And love has moved in

You’re a wizard when it comes to rhyme, I’m convinced. Lovely flow and tone throughout. Beautifully paints a picture of how exciting and beautiful a first kiss can be.
