Killjoy

by cassie hughes   Oct 31, 2021

Beware the pale faced smiley man
With cherry nose and outsize shoes
Who staggers, bucket held in hand
Across the sawdust to amuse
Unwary seated ‘round the ring
Who never realise the truth
Until too late to make escape
Caught in the clown’s malignant snare
And then like flies in webs expire

I hate clowns, I don't see their humour just their creepyness. . . .but I really liked this poem! Wonderfully done :)
