Boats of Fire

by Vera Campbell   Nov 7, 2021

Ticking tick, ticking tick tick.
The lines are running slick.
Ticking tick, ticking tick tick.
A world full of mystery.
Separated away, messed up disarray.
Wondering why, we must build our killers.
Our boat.
Ticking tick, little bombs.
Must keep on building the boat, ticking tick tick.
Brother's boat burned him.
It's been like this for centuries, build your boat of memories then burn in it.
That lake of fires, it haunts me.
Time, its time.
The singing around me.
Their words a blur, I drift into a never ending sleep.
I'm free, to float in this fiery boat of mine.
My final dream, my final flee.
Together we shall be, brother.
