Just One

some days
my thirst is so immense
that I feel I could drink an ocean in one gulp
But I know that all I need
is one sip

that’s it

one sip from that ocean

every single day

      Hmm, I’ve been thinking..

There’s a truth behind your statement but there’s a truth behind mine. So the truth is hidden between the folds of the contradiction? So, it is this truth that makes the contradiction real?

    A. shamloo has a poem That he says to a hero: "Oceans envy the sip that you've partaken from a well.
When it comes to thirst, clarity is the major criteria, not vastness. Also a few gulps of salty water would burn ones guts and liver to death.
The verse of A. Shamloo here refers to purity versos quantity, essence versos the glamor, clarity versos humongous, real poetry versos form.

More, there is a contradiction here: "my thirst is so immense" then: "But I know that all I need is one sip" which means the immensity of your thirst was somehow "made believe."

But what you are trying to say here is very beautiful. And I totally see why you do need the ocean to convey your feeling.

Thank you! Well, Uhmm, how can I explain?

Currently, I’m experiencing a bunch of symptoms that can be describe with POTS. My body is thirsty. The thirst level is unbelievable some days. I feel like I could drink an ocean. And salt is good for me. Lots of water and lots of salt. So I thought may be if I drink the ocean that could help me quickly and perhaps satiate my thirst. But I have drank water with salt and even though it helps with the thirst, I know I shouldn’t drink too much of it in one gulp. Also, the ocean water is something else. Anyways,

Now, dysautonomia is an ocean. POTS is part of it. In order to understand it and satiate my thirst, I need to take sips. A sip at a time. Too much info can hurt me if I drink it in one gulp, but a sip at a time can help me satiate my thirst and understand.

I’m doing better by the way. But not completely well yet.
