Castle bricks
Strewn in disarray across a ragged hill
Gaunt remnant of ancient battles
Where fire and death filled the night,
On soil irrigated with the blood of chain-mailed armies,
Frozen in the medieval gloom of these nocturnal visions
The long desolate walls of my dream castle
Laid waste by misfortune
Crumbled on Athenian hillsides of insomnia
Through the veil of the night
Scattered across a moonscape of dreams.
