Love Prints

We've travelled so far
Our prints on the ground
The first time I saw you
A friendship was bound

The paths we would share
And places explored
The sights were so beautiful
We ventured towards

Then finding a path
So steeply it turned
Wherever we went
It's here we returned

With determination
And destined to climb
Towards this adventure
One step at a time

A meandering ascent
Like a mountain so grand
The most beautiful views
Above all the land

When reaching the top
We both had to pause
Our hearts beating loud
Like a storm of applause

The most gorgeous sight
Though the land is not seen
High above all the clouds
That act like a screen

Our prints are now facing
As if unaware
But discovering a glimpse
With which we both share

On the peak of our mountain
We ventured above
And facing each other
It's here we found love

When walking back home
We felt we could fly
While both hand in hand
And still feeling high

Now all these years later
Our prints we retrace
And so often we find them
Paused face to face

Like a map to our hearts
All the way up above
Our foot prints which lead us
To where we found love
