Birds

by Weeping Willow   Mar 19, 2022

As I lay down
I close my eyes
And thoughts of you
Trickle along my lashes

Tickling my mind
With memories
Of being in your arms

Once again,
In your safe
Embrace

I long for it
More than you know
With a parched tongue
An unquenchable thirst
and worse
I know you’re needing
Me too

I dream of
Drinking from you
Fountains flowing
Flooding the desert
That has become of me
Quenched finally

Encapsulated
In all your divine
And seeing birds
In the skies
Of your blue eyes
