A lone wolf

by Jack Nightengale   May 9, 2022

A wolf fights for his pack,
Not just because they are family but because of love.
A wolf fight even with his pack,
When it feels that something isn't the way it should be.
A wolf fights against his pack,
Because his love is too much and the pack can't handle it.

A lone wolf knows pain,
A lone wolf knows how harsh life is.
A lone wolf never gains,
A lone wolf will just settle with this.

His emotions are detached,
He doesn't love as he used to,
Because he knows that his heart is much more vicious than his fangs.
Because he knows his emotions are more dangerous than his claws.

So he settles with the pain and walks alone,
Carrying the weight of the actions of the pack who didn't want to handle his emotions.
He doesn't trust because he knows of the betrayal,
He fights to survive alone, to create a place that he wants to call home.

The pack was you and now I'm the lone wolf again.
Our paths have been completely disconnected.
And our roads will never cross again.
Because a lone wolf will look back on his memories but won't travel back to his pack.
