The Goddess of Green

by BOB GALLO   May 15, 2022

O green goddess ,
who're dancing and ogling on the stage of wind,
with your molding heart elongating
and spouting out of your arms
in elation of hugging sunshine!

O magician who weave
the velvet of greens
with the warp and woof of
loam and light!

O goddess of greens:
your roots spellbound by the land
and your soul
waves and quivers like leaves
in the onslaught of winds!

O goddess of drawing eden
from the scabbard of peduncles,
the bleeding soul of the soil
in copse!

O green,
the green of all the goddesses:
my heart is wearing away
in the murmur of your splendour,
and the flout of your pedicel
makes the dry world
to wriggle and rise
with life
again.
