My mother's shadow haunts the hallway wall
Draping over pictures where our relatives stand tall
She watches patiently while hours creep
Protecting children as they sleep
Her hairs turn grey from lack of rest
But here she stands against time's test
Stringing frames of dreams she hopes to see
Or if she can't survive then she will leave
Great stepping stones of planning forward
For hopes we might be reaching towards
We will succeed, we will succeed
She will give all she can while she still breathes
