Incongruous

Love is like the ocean
When filled up to the brim
But sometimes in some places
You'll find it only skims

When suddenly left deserted
Your heart is begging more
But here you are all washed up
Upon the ocean floor

A puddle on the seashore
From where the waves would crash
And the water that it captures
Would barely make a splash

Desperately holding on
But the sand acts like a sieve
Knowing you're defeated
Despite all that you give

Where love can feel so rough
When once it used to blend
No matter how much you hold on
You watch it all descend

There is no solution
And no way you can fix
When love's an endless ocean
But with sand just doesn't mix
