Bitter

I taste like burnt coffee on your tongue
Like a cherry plucked too early from the tree
I taste like cacao without a hint of sugar
Bitter appears to be me

    Interesting. I'm intrigued by this. Is bitter a bad thing in this context? Is it a good thing? Bitter things can be cherished by people as if they are sweet. Keep your head up.

      Bitter, to me, is a complicated mixture. Anger. Sadness. Envy. Jealousy, even. It sits, and steeps. Not a good thing in this context. Mostly just an expression of repressed emotions, something you may not know is there unless tasted/offered.
