Last candle light

Last candle light

He slowly pushed open the wooden door
But only darkness said hello
Two of the three mouths, waiting at the table,
Waiting for the last light of the candle.

He could no longer hold back his tears.
Maybe it was fatigue, hunger or Fear.
In this pandemic where would he find there lives
If only luck had helped them survive.

But he still tried to grope his hope.
The hope that cried at the end of her rope.
Maybe he won't be ashamed of his manhood.
Maybe she will tell everything will be good

Inside the room where the candle went out,
Where its tears brought its drought,
There the moon casts shadows
Over the effects of the pandemic’s deathly blow.

Another strand fell off from his family ties.
From his firstborn turned to ashes,
Now his wife put on the noose to break her lies.
And there he was, realizing his worthlessness.

Despite the darkness, he could still see the tears
The two children had been crying before.
The scene was a burden he could no longer bear
So with tight hands, he silenced his crying lamps

A deafening silence had him surrounded.
Gradually, his eyesight brightened.
But dimmed again as his tears rolled down
When he felt no movement nor sound.

He held the phone to his ears
And said: “Sir, I didn't mean to” but stopped in tremble
"-What I did." he continued then bursted in tears
While staring at the last light of the candle.
