TRAINTRACK

by Eibutsina   Jul 14, 2004

We are an endless train track
It's inevitable we fly off the rail
As much as we want and we try
Mine and your fate is just to fail

I can't be a barricade
And catch your every fall
We've tried time and time again
But we don't connect at the soul

Though we've shared a home
A life and yes a bed
Although we've said i love you
We've both been cruelly misled.

What we wanted to believe
Wasn't actually matter of fact
Thats why we're headed off the rails
Why we're a wreck on the side of the track.

We have to walk away now
Trauma has left it hard to understand
I've taken your golden promise ring
Off my broken shattered hand.

Dragging myself from the twisted rubble
Smoke and burning fire
My body is bruised and battered
So is my pride and desire.

Though the wreck has scarred me
Eventually I will recover
And remember the train-wreck relationship
I had with my first lover.

With my swag full of memories
I'm travelling off this beaten down, one way track
With the pain inside of how we hurt each other
But i promise I'm never looking back!

**I had a difficult time with my first man, abusive and painful relationship that dragged on through court and the like for years. two years on this what i can say about it now i have time to let the emotions settle. Would love feedback from everyone on what they think especially people who have been through something similar thanks for reading everyone**
