A Dark Cloud

by Walter   Oct 22, 2022

She walks through the door
And shuts it behind
The start of the weekend
Is not on her mind

Her friends quick to call
A night out in town
Though she does not want to
They will not back down

She'll shower and dress
And makeup her face
Trying her hardest
To fall into place

Now looks in the mirror
And knows that it lies
The person she sees
Is just a disguise

Her door bell now rings
And commotion is heard
She takes a deep breath
Rehearsing her words

Now she will switch
Portraying this style
And will act along
With a fake smile

But this all is for show
For them she just lies
When outside she laughs
But inside she dies

Then comes home to silence
In her head it's still loud
But this just the thunder
Above her a dark cloud

You might never know
When someone's in pain
When you might see sunshine
But they just see rain
