a long road

by Patrick Watson   Nov 7, 2022

life is perceived to be a long road
seen against time itself, it’s nothing
I remember precisely, moment by moment
each chapter that I lived through
those faceless fears dogging my development
the game continues, its mandatory
curve ball after curve ball
ducking and diving, a way of life it seems!

tyed to the peg in the ground like a trained elephant
trapped? I think not
poised to set fire to my limitations
I lay my foundations daily
building back on this, a fresh new opportunity
time is biting at my heels
but it is game on, the pen becomes the weapon
it holds the power of immortality, just like D N A
