Sunshine in the winter

by Charmaine   Nov 16, 2022

Lost in sweet refelctions
And eerie silence
Smiles that make a day
An unspoken recollection
Memories came in his way

She didn't quite belonged here
Smelling of books and stories
As though she had slipped from covers of pages
Deep in her eyes you shall see
They were deeper than a well
As if it was a library full of stories

Sailing in sea of emotions,
To wander in a forest of scars
She was a mixture of light and darkness
A galaxy of shadows and stars

It has been years since she had gone
Voices of her long forgotten
Her vague appearance now
Clinging in silent snowstorm somehow

Receptance in acceptance
Regrets of sorrow new
Time without resistance
A love to see him through
Like a book you've read
She left him ink-stained
She should've know she succeed
For even now he still looks for her
In every nook and cranny

But he does not fear tomorrow
Whatever it might be
Nor shall he walk in sorrow
For he knows deep in his heart
She will stand by him and keep him company
Although she has become a memory
