Little Prince Charming

by Marcie Cruz-Monge   Nov 20, 2022

You were born in the springtime,
I was a monster for the first time.
You were so small,
Too small to catch a ball.
Hearing your little cry,
Visions of you wearing a tie.
You were laying in the bed,
Midnight black hair filled your head.
My heart was filled with love,
A love given to me from above.
Holding you the first time in my arms,
I saw all of your charms.

My Princess Charming

When I found out you were a girl,
My heart did a little twirl.
Thinking of your hair with bows,
Of painting your little toes.
When I held you for the first time,
My heart was beating big time.
Hearing your first little cry,
Instantly I knew you would be shy
I dried the tears you had shed,
And put a pink bow on your head.
As you grew into a little lady,
I thought about all the maybes.
