An Old Friend

Today I contacted an old friend,
I hadn't seen in a while.
By the time my note had come to an end,
I was already dreaming of her smile.

We are just borrowers on this planet,
Of time and space.
But sometimes in that loan agreement,
We meet someone with a face that just never seems to leave our sight!

Sometimes to find what's missing,
In this short span of time.
We realize it's not the one we haven't found.
But rather, the one that just never seems to leave our mind.
