The tide of resilience.

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 29, 2023

You worry about being the target again,
a political pawn,
a way to easily be blamed for
every wrongdoing, every violent act,
even though that's not us at all.

I empathize because I feel it too,
the fear crashing like waves,
never quite receding;
it affects every corner of the world
and I can only hold it back for so long.

No wonder we feel hopeless.
No wonder the future is obscure,
black clouds marking our fall from grace.

And when one hopeful word
breaks through the horizon,
no wonder we're rendered speechless...
because it doesn't feel real.

The times we're treated with respect,
we hold it, we let it warm our heart -

a flame we try to keep lit in an
ocean of uncertainty.

One day I wish to talk to you about anti trance and genders intricacies . I am sure I am going to learn a lot from a gentle soul like you in this matter. And who knows, you might learn a thing or two in smaller scale from me. I am not a bad thinker. At least my profs. use to think so. So, we believe them (compliments ) faster than criticism or..., because mind (ego) is quite selective.

Lovely poem as well, as always. I miss your participation when your account is on, because you are the most fair individual and your love for poetry is inclusive and comprises every good poem, not just your special friends' ones.
