Sadness of distance

Why oh why do we have to be so far apart,
When you are the one I love with all my heart,

This pain of being away from you grows ever so more,
It’s like I am all alone in the dark walking by the shore,

We just miss each other every moment of the day & night,
We can’t eat we can’t sleep Oh Lord what is this plight,

Talking to you on the phone for hours and is it enough,
Not being able to see or meet you oh its getting so tough,

We cry sometimes when we miss and listen to our song,
This distance may seem short but it’s still very very long,

We go through the same pain daily and wait for our meet,
The anxiousness keeps us going and makes the wait sweet,

We talk about it and accept it we look at our pictures and recall,
We aren’t at peace till we meet & love each other against the wall,

To function in this life we need to be together and that’s about it,
This love of ours is beyond the stars & the world will have to admit,

This is a union of souls but the separation of bodies does hurt,
We are completely drained and there is nothing we can exert,

This sadness in distance is just our divine love which is ever so endless,
Yet it makes us happy to have each other as this connection is timeless.
