When Ravens Met Upon The Roof - Quatern

by Ink   Apr 7, 2023

When ravens met upon the roof
And started singing to the night
wings flutter, ancient tradition,
Onyx feathers in the moonlight.

In the midst of song, they did dance,
When ravens met upon the roof
The world stopped, just for a second,
Unfolding a moment of truth.

As one called, the other replied
bonds forged in the fire of their eyes,
When ravens met upon the roof
They knew the stars above approved.

They would forever be together
Their love, a fountain of youth,
And dawn broke in celebration
When ravens met upon the roof.

I can't remember the last time I read a Quatern; this was beautiful! Also, love the inclusion of "onyx". It's not a word I hear often but it's a great color descriptor and always sounds so poetic. Love the intimacy of this shared bond between the ravens, in singing and dancing.

Welcome to PnQ by the way! It's fantastic to see new members and I hope you always feel welcome to share whatever you write or post in the forums as well :)

A nicely penned Quatern! Liked the read and the easy flow and smoothness of one verse leading into the other. Good job!
