She Stood There - Quatern

by Ink   Apr 14, 2023

She stood there and I just knew it
Like when you're happy to be home,
Or when you find your zen at peace
All else faded to monochrome.

The perfectly imperfect girl
She stood there and I just knew it
A humble soul, a wicked smile,
Mother at heart, raver by style.

I found a peace i'd never known
She said the same, and more and more
She stood there and I just knew it,
I think she maybe my lenore.

When time came to its cursed ending
Her smile fell, started pretending,
And I implored to her heart, but . . .

She stood there and I just knew it.
