When you feel you can't go on
Don't fill your mind with doubt
Just sit down so you can rest
And try to work it out

It's not defeat and you won't fail
Because you lost your strength
Be proud of how far you've come
And not the total length

We seem to strive to always finish
And make sure we are first
But if we don't then succeed
We think we are the worst

Life will have its little ways
To turn us into fools
Believe me if we can't compete
We don't break any rules

As long as you tried your best
Then be sure you are proud
It doesn't matter if you're last
Nor cheered from a crowd

When you hear your own voice
Say congratulations
You don't rely on total strangers
For their considerations

And if you follow this advice
Before you will begin
Then you never need to finish first
To feel like it's a win
