Is love ever perfect?
Or is it often blind?
Maybe somewhere in between
That we hope to find

Our love was no fairytale
If you believe in those
Which exists in all the movies
Where everyone would pose

Nor was it ever cruel
And something you can't mend
Which seems to happen often
Doomed to reach the end

I think love is balance
Where we don't take a side
And when we face a problem
Then we both confide

Love will need commitment
Where both of us will trust
And neither of us tempted
By any form of lust

Love is taking turns
And helping with good deeds
So we're assisting others
Not just for our needs

It doesn't take much effort
Just steps like these above
Actions speak the loudest
When it comes to love

And when we find a moment
To whisper those three words
There is no need to question
Just what your ears heard
