Mythological Madness

by cassie hughes   May 20, 2023

It’s not my fault that the unicorn lied
Or the hippogriff hid all my clothes
I didn’t expect to see basilisk’s wink
When the jakalope nibbled their toes

Oh it wasn’t my fault as the minotaur danced
In the pool where the merpeople swam
And I never foresaw that the old manticore
Preferred boggart to chicken or ham.

I just wont accept that the Fairies and elves
Took the balrog to task just for fun
And it never occurred that the fauns in a herd
Would ride roughshod all over the djinn

But…

I might just agree that it may have been wrong
To give invites to one and to all
So it maybe my fault that the police were called
To the spring mythological ball
.
.
.
.

Just felt the need to be a little bit silly. Sorry
