Where did it go?

by X Harlea X   Jul 26, 2023

Crossing roads that are old and broken,
sights and cities that used to be a treasured token.
Cold emptiness now fills that void.
Where did you go?
How did things go so wrong?
I've never in my life missed something for so long.
Where did it go?
Can we get it back?
Would it possible to be everything at last?
Questions that need answers that will never come,
guess I'll go back to where I came from.
Back down that battered road I go,
wishing I had never let go of what I'd come to know.

A lingering attachment to something lost. This hit hard. I liked how this was written. Keep it up
