The Beauty Beneath

by Walter   Aug 6, 2023

You shouldn't blame the mirror
It has done nothing wrong
Its only job is to reflect
Whatever comes along

The image that you see
Is judged by your own eyes
But whenever you would see yourself
You imagine that it lies

To watch you in the flesh
My eyes absorb you whole
And never will I scrutinize
What's out of your control

And beautiful to me
Is more than just your skin
Nor do I see the blemish
That your eyes fill-in

You're gorgeous in my mind
Not even one complaint
You couldn't ever imagine
The picture that you paint

What attracts me the most
Is who you are inside
This should be your natural beauty
Which you wear with pride

So don't judge with your eyes
As hearts can see much more
And whenever mine are closed, I see
My true love I adore

You know reading this was as if the world answered me. Its funny how you have said everything i wanted to hear, and I am sure most of us as well. .this was beautifully put together. It flows smoothly and nicely but hits home so so badly.
