save a moment

by Star   Aug 7, 2023

she cradles darkness, for

her tears crystalize
in the presence of light,
so she takes shade in
the last minutes
of the night.

veins press on her cheeks,
she breathes in the pain

a trajectory of the past maps her face.

she grasps onto the last strand
of life left within silence,

and she sheds a tear

while the world outside is
listening
waiting for her voice to echo

time slipping
and the street lights flicker

I can't convey how much I love this and how much I've gotten out of reading this so far. I hope to be back to comment further!

You know when you read too much into a poem it scares and really fascinates me, it feels like Im being exposed lol, though I feel my style of writing is not really straightforward. Always love your comments thank you ^_^

Powerful imagery throughout that left me feeling utter sympathy for the woman you write of. How sad to dread the coming daylight.
Good to read your work again, Star
