Dear Diary

by Walter   Aug 19, 2023

Life is more than reminders
With which we made a note
Not to miss appointments
In diaries that we wrote

When every day is set out
We plan the night before
With all our destinations
From walking out our door

I know that life is busy
We simply can't dismiss
But it makes me think of moments
In life that we will miss

Some days I wish I'll wake up
Without the need to look
Of plans and things to do
I've written in that book

It's high time for some change
With one day I'll set free
To not write any reminders
And leave that time for me

And now I am so happy
With how my whole day went
The first time I used my diary
With how my day was spent

Of course there could be a longer version of what I have to comment, but for short I should just punctuate the seamless metric that makes the reading sound so beautiful and pleasant, specially because of the words you choose all along, so simple yet enough to say what you want, without making it forced or boring like classical poetry. You definitely know what you're doing, Walter, and it shows. Congrats.
