To the victor the spoils.
Is that truly the case?

From winning the race?

Does your pride really matter
So much in the end?
That a friendship is ruined?
A lovers heart rent?

Or the eyes of another
Now stare into naught
As he lays at your feet
In the death you have wrought.

In the blink of an eye
We are here then gone
Our lives are so precious
Does it matter who won?

When the world is in uproar
and war is the theme
who are really the winners?
Is peace just a dream?
