Her Forest

by DarkNDangerous   Sep 26, 2023

Lost in the woods she lay,
Leaves scattered like her brain.
Roots intertwined their way,
Around her body like chains.

As she tries to break free,
The voidless creatures mock her.
The forest captures with glee,
As the voices recur.

She waits for her release from hell,
But silence only follows.
Sprawled out and left to dwell,
In these dreadful darkened hollows.

No one can save her but herself,
But she’s wrapped in whispers.
Left here on this lonely shelf.
Like all her long lost sisters.

She starts to sink into the ground,
Her demons bury her below.
In this dirt she starts to drown.
Her mind smiles at the show.

The forest that we created is sometimes the hardest play to get out of, no matter how familiar we are with it. Nice read. Thanks for sharing.
